#11 is my favorite

Many of these slang and phrases exist in different forms across the Caribbean, but these are some of my favorites that I hear commonly on St. Crox and what they mean should you ever visit the island!

I guess you can say this can mean “a person of ill-repute” but there are so many scenarios in which it fits outside of being a person. Just know if you hear it, it means something bad

I’ll get there when I get there or I’ll be there soon, this is a signifier that one is on island time and should not be bothered with precise punctuality.

It’s just a particular way they say down, the added “g” is a pronunciation, the do not spell it with a “g” however if you listen closely you can hear the extra constant at the end of the word.
