10 reasons why you (probably) shouldn’t date a pothead
Marijuana is one of the most popular recreational substances in the world, especially in recent years as across the United States many states have either legalized the herb for medicinal use and recreational or decriminalized it. I started smoking weed regularly at age 15, with my friends and would continue to smoke it regularly for the next 12 years. I would have considered myself a serious pothead for 6 of those years and in the following years, my use has decreased to a point where if I feel more accomplished the longer I go without it. Having been a pothead and dated potheads I thought of 10 reasons why you should (probably) NOT date one
1. Potheads aren’t ambitious
You’ve seen it in the typical stoner comedy, there's a long haired 20 something either living in a small, cramped, messy space littered with posters, some sort of trippy lighting, or with their parents like some sort of Will Ferrell-esque manchild. Art imitates life, right? I’ve known many potheads over the years and most of them aren't bothered by their lack of growth or development, instead, they’re bothered by your desire to improve. One thing I’ve learned is that smoking weed makes doing nothing absolutely okay.
